On Sat & Sun from 11 AM - 7 PM, we offer trauma-informed care for teens who have seen or lived through gun-related harm.
Teens work in small groups with trained staff to build safe coping skills, calm the mind, and grow confidence.
Our mix of GUIDANCE & LOVE, ART, MUSIC, and MOVEMENT helps teens turn pain into strength and learn how to cope day by day.

• Feel heard and safe
• Learn skill to manage stress
• Build a calm mind and strong heart
• Use art and sound to help find your voice
• Group support so you're not alone

In 2013, Tracy Kingcannon was killed in his bedroom during a drive-by shooting. His death caused deep pain for those close to him, most of all the young people who knew him as family or friend. Many of these youth began to face mental health pain, but there was no help to support them with gun violence trauma.
Out of grief and a strong need to heal, Tracy’s two older siblings and his mother started Hip Hop GLAMM. With no formal training in this work, they spoke out about gun violence and its harm to black boys and men ages 14 to 32.
As time went on, the founders listened to the youth they served and saw how gun violence caused deep mental and emotional pain. They began to shift their work to focus on trauma care for teens. In 2025, Hip Hop GLAMM changed its name to GLAMM Therapy.
Today, GLAMM Therapy works with high school-age teens who face mental health needs linked to gun violence. The goal is to help teens heal, build coping skills, and find strength.

Our annual fundraiser on August 23, 2025, was successful, and you can still help support us by donating any amount.

Carson struggled with uncertainty about his future. Especially, with the alarming rate of gun violence for black men aged 14-35. He became very active with GLAMM Therapy to find his identity and path. Today, he is a student at Dallas Seminary College.
My childhood friend David died from gun violence while attending Carter High School in TX. GLAMM Therapy helps teens through gun violence and life issues. They helped me overcome homelessness and become a student at UTA .
When I started working with GLAMM Therapy, I was a homesick high school student from Louisiana. I didn't know if I was going to graduate. They helped my dad and me with tutoring and support. I graduated on time and went to college.
GLAMM Therapy helped me be myself and realize I have many accomplishments. They helped me see that I am smarter than I believed and taught me how to accept opportunities that I worked hard to receive without feeling guilty.
Before GLAMM Therapy I feared someone having a gun in malls, schools, etc. and would avoid those places. GLAMM Therapy taught me how to reduce PTSD, overcome my fear of public places, and feel as sense of safety when in public.
GLAMM Therapy gave me a safe space to open up and be myself. They encouraged me to use my voice, taught me positive coping skills, and reminded me that my story and feelings matter. I use the confidence and coping skills I learned every day!
